Captain America and Iron Man have been two pillars of the MCU since the very beginning. Both of their journeys are likely to end in Avengers: Endgame, partly because it's a finale, and partly because contracts are up. While waiting for more (or any) plot details, fans are filling the void with their own theories. One fan has posted their own intriguing take on what will happen to Cap and Iron Man and how parenthood and sacrifice will play a role.
Tony and Cap may not be speaking to each other at the moment, but one Reddit user thinks that the two of them will be the most important characters in Avengers: Endgame and together, they will cause the death of Thanos.
The Redditor puts a big emphasis on parenthood and sacrifice, which are key to Cap and Tony's character arcs. In the case of Iron Man, family has been a big part of his journey in Phase 3. The death of his parents by Bucky fueled his feud with Cap; he finds a son-figure in Peter Parker; and he wants to have a child with Pepper Potts.
For Cap, family is something that he used to want. He wanted to settle down and start a family with Peggy Carter, but had to sacrifice what he wanted so that everyone else could live. Trading lives is a theme in Avengers: Infinity War and while Cap says they "don't trade lives," it's something that he personally has done and is willing to do again.
As the theory goes, a pregnant Pepper will suit up as Rescue in the final battle against Thanos. Not a great decision on her part, but when the world is about to end, anything goes. At some point in the battle, Thanos is about to lay the death blow on Pepper, but Steve intercepts, sacrificing his life for Pepper and the baby.
This will enrage Tony, who fights Thanos one final time. Tony realizes that he "didn't deserve that sacrifice" and fights to earn it, finally embodying what it means to be a hero. The Redditor points out that Tony wavers between what is right and what is self-beneficial in his own movies, so this will be a true hero moment.
Finally, Tony will wield Cap's shield and will be the one to say "Avengers Assemble," and kill Thanos. Tony will then retire to start a family.
It's a pretty cool theory, when all is said and done. I like emphasizing the parenthood theme that both characters have. Will it actually happen? Probably not, but like any fan theory it sounds cool on paper!
We'll know for sure what happens in Avengers: Endgame when the movie finally releases on April 26, 2019.

We Actually Have A Box Office Horse Race At Movie Theaters This Weekend
Normally, the weekly box office results are a foregone conclusion. There's usually only one major film release on any given weekend, perhaps with a couple of smaller entries, and those who estimate what the numbers will look like have gotten pretty good at being right. However, for the first time in a long time we're going to have a real race for the number one spot at the box office this weekend as three films vie for the top spot, and all three are predicted to do about the same amount of business.
This weekend sees Happy Death Day 2U, Isn't it Romantic and Alita: Battle Angel all opening in theaters. HDD technically opened yesterday and the other two open today and with Monday being the Presidents' Day holiday, it's essentially a five-day weekend at the box office. What makes this holiday weekend especially interesting, however, is that there is no clear front runner. All three films are looking at totals estimated to be between $20 and $25 million.
According to Box Office Pro, Happy Death Day 2U is expected to be the winner, with estimates putting the film at $25 million. Alita: Battle Angel is looking at $22 million and Isn't it Romantic is looking at third place with about $20 million. But those numbers are so close together that it's really anybody's game.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part was expected to clear $50 million last weekend and it only brought in about $35 million so if any of these three movies even slightly underperforms, or overperforms, compared to the expectations we could see a very different result.
It's unusual to have this sort of a close race when it comes to the box office. Normally, the studios stake out the weekends well in advance and once one major film gets set, the rest steer clear in order to actively avoid the competition. Alita: Battle Angel feels like the movie that was trying to be the blockbuster release for this weekend. However, since the film is based on an anime that the broader audience isn't all that familiar with, it's not expected to do the same sorts of numbers that other action tentpoles might do.
While there will be natural competition between the three movies for the consumer's dollar, each has the benefit of playing to a different audience. Happy Death Day 2U is the sequel to a popular horror movie. Alita: Battle Angel will scratch the itch for the action fan, and Isn't it Romantic is a romantic comedy.
The fact that today is Valentine's Day might help out Isn't it Romantic. If there's a movie that might exceed current projections, that might very well be the one.
However the box office turns out, it will likely be close. Isn't it Romantic and Happy Death Day 2U are likely excited by the potential numbers, as both films were relatively cheap to produce, so a $20 million weekend is just fine. For Alita: Battle Angel and its reported $170 million budget, it will need to exceed its projections by quite a bit to have a weekend considered to be successful, though the movie might do much better with international audiences.

Its a super cool way to charge your phone, so cool in fact that Shazam was made into a life-sized phone charger, check it out:
I only have one question: how much? In his Instagram post, Shazam! director David F. Sandberg wonders whether it is the worlds most expensive phone charger so Im guessing the answer is a lot, although maybe less than Shazams seven-figure suit. Whatever it is, it might be worth it though. Imagine having friends over and they ask if they can charge their phones, only for you to point them to the Shazam statue taking up half your living room.
This Shazam phone charger looks heavy and highly detailed too; you can even see the texture on his suit and the boots. Sadly, this live-sized Shazam doesnt appear as though it actually shoots lightning out of its fingertips like the scene in the trailer. Thats probably for the best though because even the fanciest modern phones dont support that format.
Therefore you have to plug in your phone via USB on the base of the charger, like you would with any $10 charger. Maybe those ports charge ultra fast. Even if they dont, Shazams finger lights up, as does the lightning bolt symbol on his chest, and he even has a voice function like a giant action figure, saying Your phones charged. So even if it's basically charging your phone as normal, you'll feel way better about it.
The charger's effects mirror the delightful scene from the film where the young superhero does what any kid with powers would do, show them off and use them in silly ways to improve everyday life. This phone charger is one very cool bit of functional marketing or, if it winds up being for sale, memorabilia that deep-pocketed DC fans can lust after.
Shazam! is looking to begin paying off that expensive phone charger when it opens in theaters in April. The film is tracking to enjoy a $40 million to $45 million opening weekend. Word of mouth should be good too. Although the full reviews havent dropped yet, the early reactions are incredibly positive indicating that DC is really on a roll.
