Patty Jenkins doesn't need admiration Woman's Lasso of pure to allowance her thoughts on the DCEU. She recently said she had plans for admiration woman 3, and a vision for how Diana Prince's arc should end. That said, we're still more than a year away from admiration woman 1984, and admiration woman 3 has still to get an approved green light from Warner Bros. Still, her clarification got fans thinking the potential explanation and timeline for admiration woman 3. Would it be another times piece or perhaps even send Diana into the future? Here's how Jenkins answered:
I'm not dying to realize another times piece. It was funny, I right of entry an article today on whether it would be in the forward-looking or what it would be. ... It's no question one of the things we've talked about. I'm not throbbing to put it in the past again, because where are you going to go? I think it would be weird. You have to go forward. It's no question a contemporary story. That's every I can say. And as a result where we put it and how that gets figured out, I haven't no question nailed down.
So Patty Jenkins was delightful to verify to THR that admiration woman 3 would no question be a contemporary story. That might put Diana Prince just after the timelines of Batman v Superman: initiation of Justice and Justice League.
Gal Gadot's Diana Prince made her debut in BvS, which was set a year-and-a-half after the first DCEU movie, Man of Steel. From there, we went assist in times for her admiration woman origin story, meeting Steve Trevor during the World encounter I setting. Both Diana and (somehow) Steve Trevor are returning for admiration Woman's sequel, admiration woman 1984, which usefully included its timeline right in the title.
Chris Pine has already said he's the end past Steve Trevor after admiration woman 1984. wise saying send-off to Steve (again) previously admiration woman 3 would make sense. instead why wouldn't we have at least heard from Steve in the contemporary timelines of BvS or Justice League?
Wonder woman 1984 wrapped filming in December 2018, and Gal Gadot shared some photos and gushing adore for the cast and crew. She usefully had a great times making the movie, and must afterward be burning to save going past another film.
Wonder woman was a big hit for Warner Bros./DC, especially at the domestic bin office, where it remains the top-grossing domestic film of the DCEU. Aquaman has the overall DCEU title (and DC in general) past a worldwide gross higher than $1 billion, but fans in North America were particularly loving of admiration Woman.
Wonder woman 1984 has a lot to rouse stirring to, but even if it doesn't surpass admiration woman at the bin office, or past fans and critics, it still seems past DC/WB would allow Patty Jenkins continue her vision into admiration woman 3. If she has an idea for how Diana's explanation arc should end, in some kind of contemporary timeline, next we should be skilled to look that statute out. Warner Bros. seems to be on a further lane after the triumph of Aquaman, past the further plan to focus less on the shared universe and more on the individual movies and directors' visions.
Wonder woman 1984 is scheduled to right of entry June 5, 2020, which is in relation to exactly three years previously the freedom of admiration woman in June 2017. Does that recommend admiration woman 3 would right of entry in 2023? Maybe, most likely not.
