Where, oh where is the Avengers 4 trailer? That's the ask that's been on the lips of MCU fans pretty much since the credits rolled on Avengers: Infinity court case and has grown increasingly noisy lately. Recent evidence has biting to the commercial arriving since the stop of the year and possibly this month, but according to co-director Joe Russo, our Christmas gift may not get delivered this year:
You may or may not see it since the reference book turns 2019.
This may not be Star Wars, but that hermetically sealed you hear is legions of MCU fans belting out a Darth Vader-esque 'NOOOOO at the prospect of waiting until 2019 for the Avengers 4 trailer. Granted, 2019 is less than two months away at this point, but the hope and expectation has been that we'd get an Avengers 4 preview in some form or option since year's end.
All hope is not still directionless though. In his live-stream for his supplementary bar Duello (via MCU Cosmic), Joe Russo played it coy about the trailer's actual liberty date, teasing that it may or may not reach this year. That leaves a ton of wiggle room for the commercial to still reach in 2018, but it looks next Marvel isn't quite ready to publicize next we'll be getting our first see at the MCU's biggest movie to date.
A couple of weeks back, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that the commercial will be released since the stop of the year, and some have speculated that it will fall this month, but Joe Russo's comments, even if he's just messing next us, mount up greater uncertainty about next the commercial will arrive. And sudden of a final announcement, it's all just speculation.
We know that they are about halfway through the editing process on Avengers 4 and still have loads of VFX to do on what is currently a 3-hour cut. But even while there is still a lot of feint to be done, there should be loads for a teaser trailer.
We've speculated about there not living thing a commercial at all, but there is historical precedent to think the Avengers 4 commercial could still reach in 2018. The commercial for Avengers: Infinity court case dropped on November 29 last year, a hours of daylight after a hype video was released. so Avengers 4 could still follow that similar timeline.
The Infinity court case commercial arrived since Black Panther and agreed didn't pull attention from that movie, so there is no excuse to think we'll be waiting till after Captain Marvel. Disney has a few big holiday releases coming to theaters, and from a event standpoint it would make wisdom to append the Avengers 4 commercial to one of those titles to start building audience watchfulness re the Mouse House's biggest 2019 film.
Ralph Breaks the Internet opens in theaters on November 21 and Mary Poppins Returns follows it on December 19. so both of those dates are after that still in feint to have a commercial attached, likely after it debuts online or on a hours of daylight feint right before.
If Disney essentially wanted to pull this out, it could liberty a video that just had the title this year, followed by the actual commercial in 2019. I don't expect that; rather, I think the title, possibly Avengers: Annihilation, won't feint up until the stop of the first commercial to put a cap on it.
