Jamie Lee Curtis Knows Halloween Will Always Be What She's Remembered For

At this point, Jamie Lee Curtis is an actress who needs no introduction. She's a seasoned acting veteran, Hollywood royalty, and she has appeared in numerous classic films, but her career absolutely took off back in 1978 when John Carpenter's Halloween debuted in theaters. The classic slasher flick has largely defined Curtis' career, and the actress even recognizes that it's the film that she will be remembered for when people look back on her life. In a recent interview, Curtis explained:

I recognize that it will be my biggest contribution. Despite writing books for children, all of my advocacy, all of my politics, all of my own personal journey, my legacy will be Halloween.

Jamie Lee Curtis has a resume longer than a lot of people, but it all comes back to her work on the classic horror film. Despite all of the work that she has done over the years, and all of her philanthropic efforts, her remarks to USA Today confirm that she firmly believes that Halloween will stand out as the project that fans look back on as her legacy. Considering how beloved Halloween has become in the years since it first debuted and became a record-breaking box office hit, I'd say that's definitely a good thing to be remembered for.

Of course, it also helps that Laurie Strode is a role that Jamie Lee Curtis has returned to again and again over the years. Halloween made her a star, and she would eventually go on to appear in sequels like Halloween II, Halloween H20, and Halloween: Resurrection years later. Curtis appeared in other horror movies like Prom Night and The Fog (which reunited her with Halloween director John Carpenter), but it's Halloween that has continually stood the test of time as the classic movie that has defined her career.

Now, forty years after the debut of the original Michael Myers rampage, Curtis is gearing up to once again return to the role for one more showdown with The Shape in Blumhouse's Halloween. Footage shown at CinemaCon earlier this year promises a compelling evolution of the beloved scream queen from scrappy-yet-desperate survivor to a capable fighter. Curtis seems to have wholeheartedly embraced the development of the character, and you can check out a glimpse of what she will look like in the film in a recent social media post, below!

Jamie Lee Curtis' legacy as Laurie Strode in the Halloween franchise will continue later this year when David Gordon Green's reboot of the series debuts in theaters on October 19. Official Glass Poster Brings Back M. Night Shyamalan's Heroes And Villains

After M. Night Shyamalan's Split was revealed to be set in the same universe as the director's earlier film Unbreakable, people have been really excited for the movie that would merge both of those films more fully. We've known for months the next movie would be called Glass, and previously at CinemaCon, the director shared a clip featuring Sarah Paulson's character working with patients who "believe" they have superpowers. Not all of us were lucky enough to be there to see that footage, but this morning, M. Night Shyamalan shared the first official poster for the movie, which brings back the earlier movies' heroes and villains, and people who are somewhere in between. Take a look.

Glass is expected to bring back Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson as David Dunn and Mr. Glass from Unbreakable, as well as Jame's McAvoy's The Beast and Anya Taylor-Joy's Casey Cooke from Split. The poster focuses on the three male characters, or more accurately, what looks to be their reflections on a shiny floor, possibly in a hospital ward. We know from the previous footage that Sarah Paulson will also be involved in the new movie, playing a psychiatrist who sees patients who she believes have delusions of grandeur, so a hospital setting would make sense.

Glass finished wrapping up production late last year. We saw Anya Taylor-Joy on set around that time, and we'll presumably be learning more about Casey's life following the events of Split, when she survived a long encounter with The Beast. I'd also like to know more about the aftermath of her relationship with her uncle following what we learned about him in Split. From what was shown in the CinemaCon clip, it also featured footage of the three male characters up to similar antics that we've seen from them in previous movies, which isn't really a huge surprise, but does sort of set the stage for where the new movie can go without giving too much away about the plot. The movie won't actually hit theaters until January 18, 2019, but with this first-look poster, hopefully that means some more substantial footage --hopefully a trailer! -- will be on the way. All in all, it looks as if the movie will be more of a direct sequel to Unbreakable than Split was, and we can't wait to see what that entails.

After all, although we sort of know a little more about how the major characters will interact in the new movie, much of M. Night Shyamalan's Glass has been shrouded in mystery, which is likely just the way the twist ending director likes it. For everything we know about Glass, keep an eye on our full guide.
