Jason Blum Is Down For More Halloween Sequels

The last few years have been very successful for the horror genre, as plenty of new and exciting projects have been met with critical and box office acclaim. Movies like Get Out and Split have come from Blumhouse Productions, and now the horror house will put its spin on a real classic: Halloween. The new canon-defying sequel will arrive shortly, bringing back OG scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. The upcoming Halloween is being teased as Laurie's final conflict with Michael Myers, but does Blumhouse have plans for more sequels? Jason Blum was recently asked just this. and responded enthusiastically with:

Yeah, for sure, for sure, 100 percent. Let me tell you, if we got six movies out of [Paranormal Activity] --- they found new footage five times in a row! --- I feel like we can figure out the next chapter. But we'll see.

In true horror fashion, Jason Blum isn't counting the Halloween franchise out just yet. Because if Blumhouse's catalogue of horror films is any indication, they know how to keep a property alive.

While partly in jest, Jason Blum's comments to EW show that Blumhouse Productions might just keep the Halloween property going after the upcoming sequel. John Carpenter's original movie debuted back in 1978, and the franchise has kept strong in the decades since Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode first faced off against Michael Myers. Horror properties rely on sequels, with this year's Halloween marks the whopping 11th film in the series.

Another potential Halloween sequel is going to depend on both the box office performance of this month's installment, as well as the film's contents. Halloween is currently being hyped up as Laurie Strode's final conflict with Michael Myers. This strongly hints that Jamie Lee Curtis' won't be back again, and that the scream queen might even perish during some point in the film. If that's the case, Blumhouse has done some set up to continue to the franchise, as the new Halloween will also focus on Laurie's daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).

Blumhouse Productions has had its own share of horror franchise, so it seems primed to start a new age of Halloween movies. The first Paranormal Activity broke new ground and brought the company a ton of profit, helping establish Blumhouse as a haven for horror projects. Blumouse is also responsible for acclaimed franchises Insidious, The Purge, and The Conjuring. Clearly they know how to make a concept work for multiple installments, and Halloween has such a massive following that the generations of fans would be happy for more and more sequels.

How Much Toy Story 4 Could Make Opening Weekend

This summer is absolutely stacked with movies, and one of the most high-profile is Toy Story 4. It's been nine years since Toy Story 3 and the new film in the series will find Buzz and Woody reuniting with Bo Peep and trying to find their way back to Bonnie. There's a lot of love for the Toy Story franchise and it sounds like the new film is in for a pretty healthy opening weekend, should all go well. Early tracking for Toy Story 4 has the movie opening to as much as $130 million.

Everybody is talking about Avengers: Endgame and how that film is breaking every record under the sun, but this is only the start of the summer season. There are plenty of other movies that are aiming for box office supremacy, and Toy Story 4 has a solid shot at becoming the highest-grossing animated film of the year.

While we are still a good distance away from the film's June release date, early tracking for Toy Story 4 is already in progress. According to Box Office Pro, the film could open within the range of $105 million to $130 million.

There are a number of factors that could swing this projection. The Toy Story franchise has a lot of nostalgia attached to it, and given the nine-year gap between films, older fans may want to bring kids who were born after Toy Story 3 and introduce them to the franchise. Additionally, reactions to trailers and other footage have been positive, as well as reactions to new characters like Forky.

However, Toy Story 3 is seen as the perfect conclusion to the series by some viewers, so they may not feel compelled to check out the latest adventure. This wouldn't really deter younger fans, but interest in the film amongst older generations isn't as high as it was for Finding Dory and Incredibles 2 by this point, according to Box Office Pro.

The film will also open two weeks after The Secret Life of Pets 2, which could cause Toy Story 4 to have a deflated opening if the Illumination sequel is well-received.

Comparatively, this opening projection is fairly in line with Toy Story 3, which grossed $110 million opening weekend. However it falls behind two of Pixar's most successful films box office-wise. Finding Dory opened with $135 million while Incredibles 2 was Pixar's best opening ever with $182.7 million. However, it's still fairly early, and projections tend to change the closer it gets to the release date.

Bet you didnt know Keeping Up with The Kardashians matriarch Kris Jenner was part of the MCU back in the 90s anyway. Ahead of the release of Captain Marvel this Friday, Jenner has joined in on the promotion of the film with an unexpected and totally nostalgic advertisement that includes a run-in with Carol Danvers. Check it out:

Talk about random! Kris Jenner posted the video on her Instagram on Monday with the caption as a momager, I know talent when I see it before encouraging her 25.3 million followers to check out the movie in theaters this weekend. Who knew the social media influencer would be a last minute supporter to help the film go "higher, further, faster, baby" in its upcoming opening weekend?

The 40-second video sees Kris Jenner and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Lisa Rinna rolling up to Blockbuster video store in a swanky white convertible circa the 1990s. Jenner asks Rinna one question quite specific to the era did she rewind those VHS tapes? Rinna did not, stating she has better things to do think this hair does itself?

But suddenly, Carol Danvers falls out of the sky and through the ceiling of the Blockbuster, as teased in the trailers for Captain Marvel. This leads Lisa Rinna to drop her VHS rentals and Kris Jenner to show some concern for her friend. Rinna sees Carol in the store, as Jenner calls out for her to help her. At that point, Rinna pulls another hilarious one-liner: Im an actress, not a doctor!

Kris Jenner steps out of the car to see the new MCU lead and says I dont think she needs any help, what she needs is her own movie! as she pulls out a large 90s flip phone before cuts from the movie pop up to close out the advertisement.

Since Captain Marvel lands in Los Angeles, California in 1995, the mash-up with the reality television stars is a weird and cheesy though funny approach for the films ongoing publicity. During the movie's time period of 1995, Jenner was expanding her family her now 23-year-old supermodel daughter Kendall Jenner was born. Rinna was a soap opera star who had starred in Days of Our Lives and would soon find another role on Melrose Place.

Although Captain Marvel was recently plagued with trolls on Rotten Tomatoes prior to release, reviews (a.k.a. people who have actually seen the movie) have recently been published and the consensus is largely positive.

Captain Marvel follows Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, a former Air Force pilot who has become an intergalactic warrior with Starforce. Amidst a war between the Kree and Skrulls, she lands in 90s Earth (yes, in a Blockbuster) before meeting and teaming up with a young Nick Fury. You can apparently follow Kris Jenner and see the movie this Friday, March 8.

Who Terry Crews Is Playing In Deadpool 2

A brand-new trailer for Deadpool 2 has just debuted online, and it teased the type of badass mutant action that we could've only dreamed about in the first film. One of the best elements of the preview comes with the tease of the (possibly derivative) X-Force, and the new anti-heroes that it will bring into the equations. One such mutant is Terry Crews' character in David Leitch's sequel, and the trailer has finally confirmed that he will play Jesse Bedlam in the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2016's Deadpool.

Terry Crews doesn't get a lot of screen time in this trailer, but what he gets does seem to promise something really cool. That said, it's a scene that shows us a picture of his character that tells us who he will actually be playing. Based on a quick sequence in which Deadpool thumbs through headshots for potential X-Force members, we can confirm that Wade Wilson will recruit Jesse Bedlam into his new team.

It's an incredibly quick shot, and the name doesn't even come into focus until Crews is actually out of frame. Nevertheless, you can check out the reveal of Bedlam's name, below.

For those of you who are less familiar with the character, Jesse Bedlam is a longtime X-Force character. He has the ability to generate electromagnetic fields, which can allow him to fry any electric devices in his vicinity. Additionally, he also has incredible strength and hand-to-hand fighting abilities.

All of that definitely rationalizes this casting. After all, that's pretty much the exact reason why you would hire a guy like Terry Crews to play that type of role in the first place. Just look at how badass he is as Bedlam.

Nevertheless, as exciting as it is to know who Terry Crews is playing finally, this trailer shows that he's only one of many elements to get excited about in the film. In this preview alone, we get a much better look at Josh Brolin's Cable and Zazie Beetz's Domino. In fact, while the first trailer focused heavily on the introduction of Cable into the Deadpool universe, it looks like Domino could go on to become a definite fan-favorite for her dry dynamic with Wade. With all of these new badasses entering the equation, it seems like the stage is being set for that long-awaited X-Force movie.
