New Details On Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Rise Of The Resistance Ride

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is unlike anything we've seen at Disneyland or Walt Disney World before. That much is clear even before most of us have a chance to see any of it. However, a lot of new information about the in-development land has recently dropped and now we have a bit clearer picture of just what this theme park revolution is going to look like. While the most exciting thing for many is probably the attraction that will let you pilot the Millennium Falcon, there's a lot of new detail about the other major E-ticket attraction, Rise of the Resistance, which just dropped and it makes it seem like that might be the real marquee attraction.

While nobody has actually had a chance to go on the actual ride yet, some of it has been seen and what's being relayed is pretty damn amazing. It really looks like this is the major attraction that will be part of Galaxy's Edge, as it will be bigger, in every conceivable way, than Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. Here's all the new details we have about the Rise of the Resistance.

It's the Longest Ride In Disney HistoryOne of the most frustrating parts of any theme park experience is waiting in a line for some ridiculous amount of time, only to finally experience the attraction, and have it be over in only a couple of minutes. Theme parks rarely disappoint, but wouldn't it be nice if Space Mountain was longer? That apparently won't be as much of an issue for Rise of the Resistance, as THR reports that the attraction is the longest one ever seen in a Disney park.

No official ride time was revealed, but rumors have previously hinted the experience could be as much as 28 minutes long. That seems like an insane length for a theme park attraction, if only because it means lines would potentially move slowly, as people won't be moving in and out quickly, but whatever the length, Rise of the Resistance is set to give guests an extensive Star Wars experience. If the lines are a bit slower, that may be an acceptable price to pay.

The Cast Of The New Trilogy Will Be Part Of The RideStar Wars: Galaxy's Edge is designed to be a living and breathing part of the Star Wars universe. One way that the land will do that is by incorporating the parts of the galaxy, far, far, away that we know, like the characters from the existing films. Rise of the Resistance will include appearances from several of the actors of the current Star Wars trilogy, including Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and John Boyega. It will also include fan favorite character Nien Nunb.

One thing that had been stated about the world of Galaxy's Edge is that it would be set in a world prior to the current Star Wars trilogy, but that doesn't appear to be the case as Rey is apparently an active part of the Resistance here, meaning that this part of Batuu is set some time after Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Either way, just like seeing the MCU Guardians of the Galaxy as part of Mission: Breakout, bringing in the actual actors to reprise their roles will only make you feel more like you're part of the Resistance. It will make the films and the theme park really feel like they inhabit the same space, which is the point.

The Story Sounds AmazingPart of the attraction's long experience time may be because there's a lot that happens before you actually get to the "ride" portion of Rise of the Resistance. This part constitutes a spoiler if you want to try to make it to the attraction without knowing much about the story of the ride itself. All we knew previously was that Rise of the Resistance would put guests in the middle of a battle between the resistance and First Order, but now we know more about what that means.

According to io9, first, you meet Rey, who asks you to go on a secret mission on behalf of the Resistance. You move across a flight deck to a transport, which then takes you up into space, with Poe Dameron offering you escort. The transport is attacked by the First Order and you're brought aboard a Star Destroyer. You're then taken by the First Order to be put in cells, where each group is visited by Kylo Ren. From there the details aren't being revealed, but all of this happens before you actually get to the ride vehicle, so one assumes you get to that point shortly after being captured, and the rest of the attraction is a race to escape the Star Destroyer.

The Attraction Is Simply MassiveThe biggest thing to know about Rise of the Resistance is that it's, well, big. The inside of the ride, features a full Resistance flight deck including Poe Dameron's full-size X-wing. The trackless ride vehicle, will move past full size AT-ATs. Disney does a great job at making areas feel huge when they're really not very big at all, but in this case, it's clear that Rise of the Resistance simply takes up a large amount of physical real estate.

The majority of the actual "ride" part of the attraction takes place inside a First Order Star Destroyer and from all accounts it sounds like it will truly feel like the ship is full size. Rather than create everything using 3D glasses and screens, like so many, Disney included, have been focusing on in recent years, everything here is quite real. It's stuff you could physically touch, though I'm guessing you won't be allowed to actually touch it.

The ability to pilot the Millennium Falcon is cool and all. But Rise of the Resistance seems like the attraction you'll want to check out first if you want to really feel like you're inside the Star Wars universe. If only we knew when the rest of us will be able to experience this. Galaxy's Edge will open at Disneyland sometime this summer and at Walt Disney World sometime this fall.

The Cast Of The New Trilogy Will Be Part Of The Ride. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is designed to be a living and breathing part of the Star Wars universe. The Cool Scene Robert Downey Jr. Improvised In Avengers: Infinity War

Warning: MASSIVE spoilers ahead for Avengers: Infinity War! Don't read any further if you don't want to know what happens in the latest MCU blockbuster!

Few actors have ever embodied the personality of their respective characters quite like Robert Downey Jr. and his take on Tony Stark. The Iron Man star is known for his eccentric, charismatic, and downright charming persona, and it sounds like he imbued Stark with all of those qualities in Avengers: Infinity War -- even including some moments that weren't in the script. In fact, it turns out that the actor even ad-libbed one of his best lines on Ebony Maw's ship, when Stark shuts down Peter Parker (Tom Holland) following their rescue of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

The scene in question occurs roughly around the halfway point of Avengers: Infinity War. When Doctor Strange, Peter Parker, and Tony Stark are regrouping after their battle with Ebony Maw, Peter proclaims that he's "backup," and Tony quickly retorts by stating that the "adults are talking." It's a fantastic moment of comic relief, and perfectly in line with Tony's character, but according to remarks made by Tom Holland during a fan Q&A at The Brothers Trust charity event (via Webbed Media), the line wasn't in the script, and it was all Downey.

This scene stands out as one of several instances of improv from the set of Avengers: Infinity War that made it into the final cut of the movie. In fact, while Robert Downey Jr. was responsible for that jab at Spider-Man, Tom Holland similarly got a moment to shine during production, as well. Later in the film when Spidey begins to fade away, his tearful pleas of "I don't want to go," were reportedly made up by Holland. Marvel Studios hones these films down to a science, but it's reasonably clear that directors Joe and Anthony Russo don't mind playing around and letting the actors explore the scenes to find some moments of improv, regardless of whether the lines are incredibly funny or incredibly dark.

Now we're left wondering how much Tony Stark will be able to quip and joke around next year when Avengers 4 debuts. Infinity War ends on a decidedly down note, with Tony watching as Doctor Strange, Peter Parker, and most of the Guardians of the Galaxy fade away before his very eyes after Thanos (Josh Brolin) snaps his fingers and unleashes the full power of the Infinity Stones. With the third Avengers movie ending on a devastating defeat the likes of which we have never seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we will have to wait and see how charming and quirky Tony can become when the surviving troops rally together.

If you want to see that awesome ad-lib, then make sure to check out Avengers: Infinity War in theaters right now! The film is tearing up the box office, so see it for yourself to learn what all of the fuss is about!

12 Great Movies Coming To Netflix In March

12 Great Movies Coming To Netflix In March

March is here, and with promises of spring weather, ever lighter days and Easter eggs around the corner, we get our usual batch of new films and TV shows that are debuting on Netflix's streaming platform. Out of the multitude of choices heading our way in the next calendar month, there's a select handful that really look to brighten our day. If you want to see the best and the brightest of this past month's incoming class, you can find them in our previous rundown. But today we cast our eyes to the future and are taking a look at the best movies coming to Netflix throughout March.

300Back in the days of Zack Snyder's then-up-and-coming career, 300 was handed to him as his first graphic novel adaptation set up at Warner Bros. His second major motion picture, the Frank Miller comic was brought to full color life by Snyder, while introducing us to a lot of the tools and tropes the director would use over his entire career. Enjoy this one as a throwback to a simpler era of standalone comic films, with the shine on Zack Snyder's star still intact.

AdventurelandWhile both Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg are pretty big deals right now, Adventureland is a shared project of theirs that landed at a rather interesting time. It was the dawning of a new age of tentpoles and indies alike, with the MCU just revving up the year before and Miramax on the decline as an indie stalwart. Due to both of those factors, this one seemed to be pigeonholed and overlooked in its initial release. You wouldn't be blamed if you haven't discovered writer/director Greg Mattola's ode to summer jobs and the romance that sometimes blossoms from them, so now's your chance to correct that.

BeerfestWith Super Troopers 2 is finally becoming a reality in just a couple of months, there's a lot of excitement in the air for the return of Broken Lizard to the big screen. Which raises the all-important question, are we finally going to get Weedfest within the near future? Of course, to be asking that question, you need to be familiar with the joy-inducing comedy that the troupe's film Beerfest managed to generate. And what do you know? It's on Netflix for all to enjoy as a sort of pre-game for Super Troopers 2! So if you're holding out hope for another long overdue sequel seeing the light, or if you just like Broken Lizard's damned funny faces, throw in Beerfest one or five times throughout March!

CasinoHere's a fun party game: mention the name Martin Scorsese and see what movies get mentioned first. Almost always, it's going to be Goodfellas, Raging Bull, The Departed and even The Wolf of Wall Street. Yet below the strata of intensely well known Scorsese, there are gems that need some more love from the public - flicks like The King of Comedy, or even Casino. Everyone loves to compare it to Goodfellas, as it's obviously a very mafia-centric story, but that comparison is unfair. While Goodfellas focuses on a guy who always wanted to be a gangster, the Robert De Niro lead in Casino just wants to run a square joint and take care of those that he loves. Though, in true Martin Scorsese form, it's not an easy bet.

Cruel IntentionsOut of all of the '90s nostalgia driven trips we've been subjected to, how has Cruel Intentions not managed to land a solid revival? Sure, there was that TV pilot a couple years back, and a new musical is heading to the stage this year in New York, but surely there would have been a remake/sequel by now, right? Then again, if you revisit this '90s classic for yourself, you'll probably see why it's so damned hard to bring Kathryn, Sebastian and Annette back into the modern day. For as everyone could tell with the two subpar, direct-to-DVD sequels (which have also found a home on Netflix this month), that first movie was truly lighting in a bottle.

Forgetting Sarah MarshallBreak-ups suck, and if Valentine's Day didn't go the way you'd hoped this year, you're probably still sorting through the wreckage. Netflix understands this, and as such, it's bringing Forgetting Sarah Marshall to your weary eyes in the name of laughing at heartache. Allegedly inspired by his failed relationship with a former co-star, this kinda rom/definitely com flick sees writer/star Jason Segel's Peter trying to escape his heartache by vacationing to Hawaii. Unfortunately for him, his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend are both in the same state. We won't spoil how it turns out in case you're new to this one, but we will say that it's well worth watching for the Dracula musical numbers alone.

GhostbustersComedy is a fickle genre, as blazing successes of today don't always age the way they should. Just ask anyone with a copy of Superbad who they haven't even spoken to in a good decade. And yet, the films that stick do so for the best reasons. Ghostbusters, in the wrong hands, might have wound up a relic that people talked about with fondness that was freeze dried from the moment of their first and only viewing as a kid. And yet, it's a fresh and vibrant movie that's definitely a product of its time, but one that doesn't completely anchor itself to its '80s origins. Yes, it's true, this film is immortal.

MoonIf it wasn't for Duncan Jones failing to cast Sam Rockwell in Mute, but really wanting to work with him anyway, Moon would have never happened. And while we've just received that other film in our Netflix queues as of today, it's that first film that still sticks in our minds. Rockwell's performance as Sam Bell, the lone employee of a lunar mining corporation with a big secret, is still a revelation after all this time. While there's a good chance he will win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar this year, we can't help but feel that there should have been more love for his role as Sam back in the day.

The Brothers GrimmTerry Gilliam is the king of underrated successes. Just ask any of his fans. With The Man Who Killed Don Quixote finally being completed, there's no better time to tear through the director's back catalog and pick out some favorites. As such, it's recommended that you check out The Brothers Grimm, a fantasy comedy that operates on such a fantastically efficient level, it feels like a tentpole with weight to it. With Heath Ledger and Matt Damon playing the titular brothers, who turn out to be con artists with fantastic storytelling abilities, seeing this pair fight off more than they can chew is a true delight.

Up In The AirWhile it certainly looked like the "topical choice" for the Academy Awards in its year of nomination, Jason Reitman's Up in the Air actually serves a deeper purpose. The George Clooney/Anna Kendrick road dramedy certainly gives a voice to the woes of the economic recession that hit Americans hard, as it actually cast real people that lost their jobs at the time to play some of the folks being let go by Clooney's corporate soldier. But underneath that plotline are tales of love, ambition and where you're actually going in life versus where you're hoping to land. At times tender, with some gut punches that help highlight its humanity, it's a movie that should be enjoyed on a day where you're really ready to parse it out.

Wet Hot American SummerMuch like film audiences the world over, Netflix is in love with Paul Rudd. With six of his ten best performances (in our opinion) being run in their streaming platform, you could very easily find yourself stuck in a Rut of Rudd. And if you choose to do so, we suggest throwing in Wet Hot American Summer in there somewhere, as it's a fun and jerky balance to some of the sweeter, more stoic work he's done in recent years. That, and it's Wet Hot American Summer. How do you not watch Wet Hot American Summer when it's staring you right in the face?!

Let Me InRemakes get a pretty bad name for the most part, as simply adapting something that's been done before feels like a waste of time, money and attention span. But if you can recapture what makes the original that damned brilliant, while at the same time spinning it in a slightly different way to make it its own thing, then you have a case for just how the concept works on its best day. Let Me In is one of those best days in remake history, as director Matt Reeves takes Let The Right One In and turns it into a film that still strikes the notes Tomas Alfredson's Swedish original did, but in a different and darker chord.

First Look At Thor: Ragnaroks Taika Waititi As Hitler In New Movie Jojo Rabbit

First Look At Thor: Ragnaroks Taika Waititi As Hitler In New Movie Jojo Rabbit

Following the huge success of Thor: Ragnarok, you might have expected Taika Waititi to leave the quirky, smaller filmmaking of his past behind in favor of tackling more blockbusters. Yet that wasn't the case, and for his next film, the Maori director will be taking on perhaps his wildest material to date. The film, titled Jojo Rabbit, is written and directed by Taika Waititi, and stars the director as an imaginary version of Adolf Hitler. For promote the World War II satire film, Taika Waititi has already shared an image of him telling Hitler how he feels, and now he has shared what he will look like in the film as imaginary friend Hitler. Check it out below:

Not even in memes has Hitler ever looked more entertaining. You can just tell from this image how over the top Taika Waititi is going to be as this character. In Jojo Rabbit, this Hitler is an imaginary friend to 10-year-old Jojo and sort of an amalgamation of the boy's missing father and Adolf Hitler. Here he is giving Jojo's mother, played by Scarlett Johansson, a somewhat dubious look. It's funny because even though this film will take place in Germany during the Nazi rise, this image kind of evokes a '50s America with the smiling family all sitting down for dinner. Which, as Taika Waititi notes, is made quite weird with Hitler's presence. Given Jojo Rabbit's outlandish premise and Taika Waititi's penchant for the hilariously absurd, you have to imagine that Hitler will be getting young Jojo into all sorts of situations and providing ridiculous commentary along the way.

Honestly, this image from Taika Waititi's Instagram and the film's premise remind me a lot of Drop Dead Fred. That film used an imaginary friend to tell a darkly humorous story about growing up, divorce and emotional abuse. Jojo Rabbit looks to be using an imaginary friend Hitler to tell a satirical story about World War II and a young boy trying to find his place in the world, while also using the device to insult Adolf Hitler in every possible way. I don't know if anyone could pull off this kind of thing off other than Taika Waititi, but I'm glad he is trying something so bold, and I'm stoked to see if he succeeds. This movie has only been shooting for a little over a week but is it too soon to ask for a teaser trailer?

In addition to the three leads, Jojo Rabbit also stars Oscar-winner Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson and Thomas McKenzie. Jojo Rabbit does not currently have a release date, but we'll keep you updated on the film as we hear more and provide any future glimpses Taika Waititi shares from what's sure to be an outrageous satire. Don't forget to check out our release schedule to see everything releasing this year.

Possibly the weirdest dinner I've ever been to. #jojorabbit #Shitler @jojorabbitmovie ???? @kimberleyfrench
