This portion of this big narrative that Jo is creating doesn't focus upon his sexuality, but we're not airbrushing or hiding it... the savings account [of the warm relationship] isn't there in this particular movie but it's distinct in what you see... that he is gay. A couple of scenes we shot are unconditionally sensual moments of him and the young Grindelwald.
David Yates makes it distinct here that he never said that Dumbledore wasn't gay, and his savings account in wonderful Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald isn't an instance of making him straight or ignoring/hiding that aspect of the character. It just sounds like there won't be some discontinuous magical banner that says he is gay, but it will be unconditionally obvious to anyone who sees the film that Dumbledore is gay. There will be some scenes that he shares like Grindelwald, and like you see them, the reality of the character's sexuality will be undeniable.
The additional thing that stands out to me just about what David Yates told Empire Magazine is that "This part" of J.K. Rowling's savings account does not focus upon Dumbledore's sexuality. As he says, this is a big narrative, and The Crimes of Grindelwald is forlorn the second film in a five-film series. Just because this film may not essentially focus upon Dumbledore's sexuality does not plan that none of the additional three upcoming films will. Heck, Dumbledore wasn't even in wonderful Beasts and Where to locate Them. most likely the Dumbledore-Grindelwald association plays out exceeding multipart films.
